On Thursday, Mr. Biden faced questions about the efficacy of a ban on some semiautomatic rifles. The vice president noted that those weapons are involved in only a small fraction of gun deaths but said the restrictions make sense because police officers are outgunned on the streets by criminals with high-powered firearms. On Capitol Hill, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D., Calif.) and other Democrats unveiled legislation Thursday to ban certain types of semiautomatic weapons.

While he defended the proposed ban, Mr. Biden, who emphasized that he’s a gun owner and a supporter of the Second Amendment, said he is more focused on limiting the capacity of magazines.

“There is no sporting need that I’m aware of for a magazine that holds 50 rounds,” he said.

Mr. Biden pointed to the mass shooting in Tucson, Ariz., that critically injured former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. When the gunman paused to swap magazines, he was tackled, and lives were saved, the vice president said.

Gun safety is: Making sure whether or not a firearm is loaded by opening the action/bolt; checking to see that the bore is clear and free of instructions; loading with the proper caliber/gauge ammo/shells; always maintain control of the muzzle direction (or safely holstered in concealed carry); keeping the safety on until ready to fire (my Sig doesn’t have one except ME); keeping finger away and off the trigger until sure of your target plus what “lies beyond”…and eating what you kill! I’m not into cannibalism, but the US Federal Government sure seems dead set on consuming a lot of us in their Marxists’ attempts to disarm Americans.

IT AIN’T GONNA HAPPEN without a tremendous amount of blood being shed I’m afraid.

And as for firearms capacities and magazine round count…maybe bumbling Joe has never experienced the pleasure of not having to reload quit so often during an extended sessions while plinking and punching paper. It is a spirit lifting experience to send multiple rounds downrange in a brief period of time…all who shoot are very familiar.

It is our GOD-given right to defend ourselves as an animal on planet Earth. As so cleverly and purposefully done with the Second Amendment (Solidified by the DICK ACT of 1902) by our far-sighted Founders. Gun ownership and the 2A isn’t about hunting…that’s a another thing altogether. It is very unsporting of an abused taxpayer to have more than 50 rounds in his gun as he is shooting at a liberal/regressive polititian. The liberal/regressive should have a sporting chance. Since when does any elected official, government employee or any other individual have the right to tell me what I “need” or “don’t need” to protect me and my family? The 2nd Amendment gives me the right to bear arms. It does not state that I can only have arms necessary for hunting…or any other restriction. In fact, it states that this right SHALL NOT be infringed upon. That means NO RESTRICTIONS. What part of ‘shall not’ does this administration not understand?
