Obama donor in process of buying up and ‘destroying’ America’s top pro-gun media outlets

hunting Employees of Obama donor Leo Hindery Jr.’s media conglomerate Intermedia Partners, which now owns most of the top gun-culture media outlets in the country, believe that Hindery plans to gut and destroy all of them as part of a business plan that has already led to numerous layoffs and the virtual shuttering of prominent television production facilities in Minnesota and Montana.

Hindery, who was in consideration to be President Barack Obama’s secretary of commerce, is managing partner of Intermedia Partners. The New York-based media private equity fund owns Intermedia Outdoor Holdings, which publishes 17 hunting, fishing, and shooting magazines, including Guns & Ammo, Handguns, Gun Dog, Rifle Shooter and Shooting Times.

InterMedia Outdoor Holdings purchased the pro-gun hunting and fishing network the Sportsman Channel in 2007, and is now in the process of acquiring the Outdoor Channel, pending the federal government’s approval of last month’s merger between InterMedia Outdoors and Outdoor Channel Holdings.

InterMedia employees believe that Hindery, a Huffington Post blogger who has contributed to numerous Democratic politicians including Andrew Cuomo and Elizabeth Warren, is in the process of consolidating all of America’s leading gun-culture media outlets and stripping them down to virtual destruction.

repubboy is partly correct. It is about money,money,money! It’s not about anything else. It doesn’t matter what your political,religious,or any other beliefs are, what makes you happy is a roof over your head, a full belly and a few bucks. However, once you have the basics the only thing that makes most people happy is possessing as much wealth as possible. Look at the greedy billionaires who run large businesses and hate to pay a living wage or shut down a facility to take the jobs to another country. Mitt Romney became a multi-billionaire doing this. I’m sure Mitt Romney is a nice guy a gives plenty to charity but doesn’t realize that causing a person to lose his job can destroy the person,his family and their future as well as hurting the community.

Once they have the money, then it is all about power. I think this guy has crossed over into the power bit and will blow money just to push his agenda. The only problem is that if there is a demand for a product and you close off the outlet for that product, another product will come in to fill it’s place. That’s the way it works in a capitalist environment. All you need is another guy to come along and start up something new (Glenn Beck?)

When did we need the media to arm ourselves and learn to shoot, to feed &/or protect ourselves??? I can point and shoot w/o a magazine to read. Madness, simply madness “rules” (VERY loosely stated) , the deterioration of the current DIC (dictator in chief) is obvious visually as well as by actions taken. He looks to be falling apart @ the seams.

Have a look at the public relations ploy and tactic of MagPul as they got out word that they will saturate the Colorado market with rifle magazines before the insane legislation there might pass into law. If you are a patriotic Coloradan, buy a bunch – even if you don’t own a firearm that uses them. Be certain that there is a supply available!

We don’t NEED the magazines. Most all shooters will teach someone to shoot, hopefully safely. There are blogs and such. WE THE PEOPLE can help our own. And I’m betting the gun manufacturers and ammo companies will be glad to support us.

  One of the prime reasons many get the gun magazines is for info on new weapons and new ammo being produced. And the little tricks to improve reloading, shooting, etc. But, with a little digging, most of this is available on the internet! So far, Zerobama hasn’t figured a way to control this in a clandestine method!

Nature abhors a vacuum. Just look at what Glenn Beck has done with his Blaze TV. Within a matter of weeks privately held satellite TV channels will spring up to fill the void. After a forest fire, fresh new undergrowth sprouts up to replenish the land.

This would be a useless effort on the part of this guy, if it weren’t for the fact that it’s become far easier for those in power to prevent new periodicals from being published, and especially to prevent new broadcast content from being made available.

If that weren’t the case… if competition and a “free market” still existed in the media realm… this guy could buy up all this media and it would have almost no effect… the writers, editors, etc, would all go someplace else, and the buyers would start buying that new product.

But today… if you can buy up the current stuff and “defang” it… and if you can prevent any new outlets from coming into being….

… this could prove to be a remarkably effective tactic. A tactic to isolate us, separate us, stigmatize us, and ultimately to declare us “enemies of the people.”

Someone is also buying up all the ammo from online sources such as CTD as soon as it’s posted. The scarcity is not the result of many people placing orders. It is due to a few people buying it all out as soon as it is posted. Be vigilant, get together with your friends, and agree to split orders and BEAT THEM TO IT. Do it now.

The more this wealthy fool spends destroying the shooting sports publications the less he has to spend on progressive politics , and at the same time opening up the field to new shooting sports entrepreneurs . Come on A–hole Hindery , spend , spend , spend. We shooting enthusiasts don’t need magazines and TV to enjoy our sport , and in fact will have more time to spend afield .
