Texas Democratic Rep. Al Green proposed a bill to impeach President Trump and it went to vote on Wednesday on the floor of the House of Representatives.
It was an overwhelming “no” to Green’s ridiculous bill.
‘Green and five other House Democrats, introduced articles of impeachment against the president in November and listed a number of reasons they believe Trump should be impeached. He mentioned obstruction of justice, a violation of the Constitution’s foreign emoluments clause, a violation of the Constitution’s domestic emoluments clause, undermining the federal judiciary process and undermining the press,’ reports the Daily Caller.
When the bill was being brought to the floor, Republicans asked for a vote to put the bill on the side. The vote to table Trump’s impeachment legislation came with a vast difference in numbers with a 364-58 vote.
Nancy Pelosi, House Minority Leader, and Minority Whip Steny Hoyer begged their liberal colleagues to stop pushing to impeach Trump.
“[Trump is] unmindful of the high duties of his high office,” Green said when he put forth the vote. “He has brought disrepute, contempt and ridicule on the presidency… He has harmed American society by publicly casting contempt on individuals and groups.”
Question now is, will Green continue to push for this legislation to pass?
