Housing and Urban Development is about to get an amazing department secretary. Ben Carson is going to kick the liberal-progressive policies out and make these constituents into prosperous, productive members of society. Who wouldn’t want that?
One of President Donald Trump’s pro-life nominees for a Cabinet position has received approval from a Senate committee. The Senate Banking Committee approved pro-life physician Ben Carson to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Trump nominated the retired neurosurgeon, who ran against Trump in the wide field of Republican presidential primary candidates earlier this year.
“Dr. Carson has achieved a great deal of success during his impressive and accomplished career, and I was encouraged by his recent testimony before the committee,” said Chairman Mike Crapo, R-Idaho, after the vote. “Now that his nomination has been voted favorably out of the committee, it is my hope that the full senate will follow suit in a timely manner.”
The panel approved Carson’s nomination on a voice vote without Democrat opposition.
“I am thrilled to nominate Dr. Ben Carson as our next Secretary of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Ben Carson has a brilliant mind and is passionate about strengthening communities and families within those communities,” Trump said in a statement at the time of his nomination.
