Feminists claim to be free, independent with no need for a man to tell them what to do.
However, when faced with a government and religion that represses women — yes, I am talking about Islamic nations — they seem to cower and lose their bravado.
Take for example Sweden. This so called ‘first feminist government in the world’ had women officials visit Iran. As they were paraded in front of the Iranian leaders… you will notice one thing. Each feminist is wearing a hijab.
Sweden defined their feminist government as:
“A feminist government ensures that a gender equality perspective is brought into policy-making on a broad front, both nationally and internationally. Women and men must have the same power to shape society and their own lives.”
So much for sticking to their guns on equality.
Now the UK’s Prime Minister Theresa May, she is someone any feminist could look up to.
In her recent visit to Saudi Arabia, May purposely refused to wear the headscarf in front of officials.
A British government spokesman said May had made a ‘personal choice’ and a source travelling with the prime minister said it was intended as a ‘statement’ .
May has made it clear she believes Saudi women deserve greater freedoms. Although they are inching towards some sort of parity with men in certain respects, they are still forbidden from most activities western women take for granted. For instance, Saudi women are banned from driving a car thanks to a religious fatwa imposed by clerics.
This is totally badass! What a great example from a female leader of a first world nation.
Theresa May is every bit of a real woman with courage. Unlike those Swedish feminists or the ones marching in DC with crochet labia’s on their heads.
