New York City mayor Bill de Blasio would rather leave to Hamburg, Germany, to protest capitalism than to fulfill the duties of his office.
While the progressive, douche-bag politician was in flight to the G-20 Summit a swearing in ceremony for New York Police Department was occurring. The mayor was expected to attend and congratulate the new police officers.
Bill de Blasio pulled this stunt just a day after a female NYPD officer was slaughtered by a cop hater.
His job is to run the city of New York and to server its citizens, not to be some global politician.
New York Post: Hizzoner’s overseas jaunt was kept under wraps until just 90 minutes before he took off from Newark Airport.
A last-minute announcement said he “will attend several events surrounding the G-20 Summit, including Saturday’s Hamburg Zeigt Haltung rally.”
De Blasio will be the keynote speaker, organizers of the demonstration — Hamburg Shows Attitude — tweeted.
New Yorkers didn’t let this progressive mayor get away unscathed for his decision.
New York State Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis, a Republican who will likely challenge de Blasio for the NYC mayorship, slammed de Blasio for not doing his job.
“Unbelievable. Instead of jet-setting around the world, he should be here doing his job,” she said, according to the Post. “A police officer was murdered, street homelessness has skyrocketed and people continue to get delayed on the trains.”
“The mayor should be embarrassed by the way he has treated the men and women of our police department,” she added.
Greg Gutfeld and Eric Bolling, both Fox News hosts, also dog-piled on de Blasio.
“You know who the worst is out of everything? Mayor Bill de Blasio,” Gutfeld said on Fox Thursday. “Without telling anybody, anybody in the city, he flew to Germany to protest. He claims the the cost was footed by Hamberg…what a horrible little man-child this is, to sneak out of the city. He leaves his city’s responsibilities to go protest. He’s such a dirtbag.”
Bolling, speaking on Fox Friday, added that de Blasio is a “disrespectful SOB of a mayor” and slammed de Blasio for his track-record of being disrespectful toward the NYPD and city police officers.
The mayor faces an election year. Votes will be cast on November 7th, and current polling shows an overwhelming support of de Blasio.
After this stunt, however, it is not certain how it will go over with voters.
Should this mayor be fired for failing to do his job?
