Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign has gone from being a humorous novelty for the liberal media into a full-blown American phenomenon. However, the scale of the phenomenon hadn’t quite been put into context for me until I saw this map.
Put together by Google analytics, this map shows the most popular Republican candidate by Web search for all of the counties in the United States of America.
You may have guessed it was Trump, and you’d be right, but you’ll never guess just how resoundingly he beat all of the other candidates.
There you have it. The map looks about as red as could possibly be. In only one state did a candidate beat Trump for the number of searches — Scott Walker, who beat Trump in Walker’s home state of Wisconsin.
And while Ben Carson did fairly well in the Mountain West, there was no other candidate who seems to have done well enough to make a dent in Trump’s numbers.
