Erin Burnett, the CNN host, also claims that that was a fair question to ask. Check out the full interview below.
On Wednesday, CNN reported that Pamela Geller, president of the American Freedom Defense Initiative and sponsor of the Draw Muhammad Art Exhibit and Cartoon Contest in Garland, Texas, was the original target of a beheading plot by Usaamah Rahim, the terror suspect fatally shot by police after waving a knife at officers in Boston.
While interviewing Geller, CNN’s Erin Burnett asked if she relished being the target of a beheading plot, while mentioning the far-left Southern Poverty Law Center’s tracking of groups like Geller’s, Twitchy reported.
Multiple times, Burnett told Geller the SPLC has listed Geller and her group as being “anti-Muslim.” After saying nothing justifies a beheading plot, Burnett then asked Geller, “Are you stoking the flames? Do you, on some level, relish being the target of these attacks?”
“Who self promotes to get killed?” Geller asked in response. She also asked Burnett who designated the Southern Poverty Law Center as the “arbiter of anything.” Geller reminded Burnett that instead of tracking jihadist groups, the SPLC tracks patriots, veterans and defense groups like hers.
She also reminded Geller that one SPLC supporter used the group’s “hate map” in a plot to murder members of the Christian Family Research Center. And, she added, the “shooter in North Carolina who shot three Muslims over a parking dispute was a member” of the SPLC.
