CNN’s Jeff Zeleny was providing commentary after President Trump addressed the nation on Las Vegas and his up coming trip to the city. Strangely, Zeleny felt it was important to remind the audience that country music fans are ‘likely’ Trump supporters.
Sunday evening’s attack was the deadliest shooting in the history of the USA, leaving 59 people killed and hundreds more severely injured.
According to Hannity, ‘Zeleny was praising the President’s comments, calling them “pitch perfect,” when he strangely pointed out that Trump supporters were among the victims; possibly implying the President was particularly moved by the tragedy because it directly affects his base.’
“What will this President do in that respect? Will he take a leadership role in that respect?” asked the CNN reporter; who was referring to liberal calls for stricter gun laws. “We will of course watch that as the days unfold.”
“The President clearly is striking a pitch perfect tone there,” he added. “Something else to keep in mind; a lot of these country music supporters were likely Trump supporters.”
On Monday President Trump addressed the country on the incident, giving his thoughts and prayers to the victims of the attack.
“To the families of the victims, we are praying for you and we are here for you. We ask God to help see you through this very dark period,” said Trump. “To the wounded who are now recovering in hospitals, we are praying for your full and speedy recovery, and pledge to you our support from this day forward.”
