How did the neighbors not smell this rotting corpse and report it. Must be an interesting neighborhood… to say the least. You won’t believe what was in the killer’s note.
The body of a murdered Bronx ex-con — his remains wrapped up in plastic and blankets — was found near a note apparently by the killer that read, “Sorry for the smell,” police sources said Wednesday.
The note was found by a couple who was allowed to move into victim Sidney Harris’ apartment after the landlord hadn’t seen him for a while, the source said.
Harris, 64, was found cocooned in plastic and blankets inside his Arthur Ave. apartment about 9:40 p.m. on Monday. He died of multiple skull fractures, according to the city Medical Examiner.
It was not immediately known how long Harris’ body had been in the apartment before it was discovered, but neighbors told the Daily News that there was a foul odor coming out of the apartment on Monday.
The smell was so bad that one neighbor couldn’t sleep.
Police sources said that the body was discovered by a young couple moving into Harris’ apartment.
