It seems as if Eminem’s year long war against President Donald Trump is subsiding as he takes aim at gun owners and the NRA in his newest song.
Performing for iHeartRadio Music awards at The Forum, the artist added a new verse to his song “Nowhere Fast” where he slams the National Rifle Association (NRA), calls Trump a “puppet”, and all gun owners.
In the song, Eminem described all gun owners as people who are “clutching their loaded weapons” and “lov[ing] their guns more than our children.”
The lyrics are as follow:
This whole country is going nuts, and the NRA is in our way.
They’re responsible for this whole production.
They hold the strings, they control the puppet,
And they threaten to take donor bucks.
So they know the government won’t do nothing and no one’s budging.
Gun owners clutching their loaded weapons;
They love their guns more than our children
Parkland shooting survivor Alex Mascou — who stated politicians shouldn’t be sending “thoughts and prayers” but “doing nothing to make the necessary changes to prevent this tragedy from happening again” — introduce Eminem’s new gun hating rap.
After the school shooting in Parkland gun control activists, as well as some of the students, have made it their mission to demonize the NRA, which they are portraying to the public as a organization that is “basically killing children.”
