Former President George W. Bush unloaded a barrage of criticisms on President Obama during a private meeting with Jewish donors on Saturday, The New York Times reports.
At the meeting in Las Vegas, which was off the record and had a “no notes” rule, Bush levied criticisms of the current president.
Opining that President Obama didn’t develop a strategy to deal with ISIS, attendees noted that Bush said what he thinks should have been done:
“You call in the military and say, ‘Here’s my goal. What’s your plan to help me achieve that goal?”
When asked what action should be taken against terrorists, Bush offered advice:
“Well, you kill ‘em.”
The former President also quoted Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), saying that withdrawing troops from Iraq was a “strategic blunder.”
Attendees noted Bush’s skepticism of the Iran nuclear deal as well. Expressing deep concern over Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Bush said:
“He’s smooth… and you’ve got to ask yourself, is there a new policy or did they just change the spokesman?”
