Cuomo, who was joined by free college proponent Sen. Bernie Sanders for the announcement, proposed that students from families making $125,000 or less per year could attend state and city colleges, including community colleges, for free.

Hillary Clinton said Tuesday she is “delighted” that New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) is putting forth a proposal for free tuition at state and city colleges.
“With an exploding technology, and with most of the good-paying jobs requiring more and more education, we need to make certain that every New Yorker, every Vermonter and every American gets all the education they need regardless of family income,” Sanders said in a statement.
