The all women’s Legends Football League, formerly the Lingerie Football League, was recently forced to respond to the NFL’s protest of the national anthem. The announcement on where the league stood may have shocked the NFL.
An official statement was released saying they stand for the national anthem. Why? Well, they believe the sacrifices made by American heroes are “far too sacred” to protest.
“The LFL recognizes everyone’s First Amendment right to protest, but our nation’s flag and anthem are far too sacred,” the league said. “Too many fellow Americans have made the ultimate sacrifice, so that our flag and anthem continue in all its majesty.”
To make their stance even more official, the league released a video proclaiming their support for the U.S. flag and national anthem.
“It symbolizes all the blood, sweat, and tears that have been shed so that we as Americans can raise our flag across our nation,” the video states. “The LFL salutes all those who make this the greatest country in the world.”
“We stand in salute of our flag.”
