SNL aims, and fires! This time at newly engaged MSNBC anchors Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough.
SNL pulled off the skit where the anchors couldn’t keep their hands off each other. And it got awkward for everyone else!
The Morning Joe hosts announced earlier this week that they were engaged after Scarborough popped the question to Brzezinski while the two were on a romantic trip to the south of France to celebrate her 50th birthday last weekend.
Kate McKinnon took on Brzezinski and absolutely nailed it as Alex Moffat also successfully portrayed Scarborough for the skit. Alec Baldwin made an appearance via telephone as President Donald Trump during the cold open.
The show opened with the two sitting at the anchor desk for their show, Morning Joe, as they discussed how the House passed the American Health Care Act while sipping on Jamba Juice and Starbucks.
It started off with Moffat’s Scarborough talking as McKinnon’s Brzezinski mouthed the key words for emphasis.
“Well, guys, they did it, ok. The House has passed their health care plan which might take health insurance away from 24 million Americans. Many of them are swing voters in 2018. If morality doesn’t matter to them, I mean, maybe just pure politics should?”
She then started repeating the key words and use hand gestures to drive home their point.
‘Mika’s over it,’ Scarborough stated.
‘It’s crazy! I’m up it, I’m over it, I’m past it, I’m in the driveway, the car is running,’ McKinnon’s spot-on Brzezinski replied.
She then turned to him and said: ‘This party—your party, the Republican Party—is completely morally bankrupt at this point.’
‘Oh, Mika! That’s enough, ok?’ he quipped before he turned to look at her and gaze deeply into here eyes. ‘You’re being snickety because you know it pushes my buttons.’
‘Does it? Push your buttons?’ Brzezinski replied, as she moved closer to Scarborough before she gently brushes his hair.
‘It does,’ he replied as the two shared their first steamy moment together.
Then the camera turns to Morning Joe “panelists” Mike Barnicle, Mark Halperin, and Willie Geist, and the looks of horror and disgust are unmistakable!
Geist: “What am I seeing here? I don’t know… I have so many unanswered questions.”
And it didn’t stop there. The pair continued to argue and make things more awkward for everyone.
A pretty spot on depiction, if you ask us!
