Trump skipped out on the White House Correspondents Dinner to hold a rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania instead. And can you really blame him? All that happened at the dinner was a bunch of people got dressed up and ripped on him all night.
Trump pointed out at his rally that, according to the Media Research Center, “89 percent of the media’s coverage of our administrations has been negative and purposely negative and perhaps that’s because according to the Center for Public Integrity, 96 percent of journalists who made donations in the last election gave them to our opponent.”
So that’s why he decided to be with people who support him. Good call Mr. President.
“A large group of Hollywood actors and Washington media are consoling each other in a hotel ballroom in our nation’s capital right now. They are gathered together for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner without the president.
“And I could not possibly be more thrilled than to be 100 miles away from Washington’s swamp, spending my evening with all of you and with a much, much larger crowd and much better people.”
And those in the crowd had the same feelings toward the media as Trump did.
CNN was doing a live broadcast of the rally. Trump then brought up CNN in his speech. The crowd begins to chant “CNN sucks!” on CNN’s live broadcast.
And now all of us are laughing!
