Every good mum in Great Britain needs a gun. Law-abiding citizens should have full power and ability to protect themselves against criminals and evildoers. Despite America’s current failing economy and self-obsessed political leaders, the United States of America is blessed with a Constitution and subsequent Bill of Rights. There is one right that is exceptionally practical; and that is the Second Amendment, the right to keep and bear arms.
With this lovely amendment, Americans possess the power to defend their person, loved ones and property with lethal force.
It is a statement of freedom.
Rather than relying on unarmed police men to come and save the day in an untimely manner, like so many British citizens do, gun totting Americans don’t have to depend on law enforcement for protection. We can take care of the unlucky thugs before the police get there, and walk away with hardly a scratch, and our dignity still intact.
One recent example of an American exercising her right to self-defense is Sarah McKinely. Sarah was home alone with her 3-month-old baby boy on New Year’s Eve when two reprobates tried to break into her house. Upon realising that her and her son were under physical threat, she loaded up her 12-gauge shotgun and her pistol, placed her son down in his room, shut his door and stood guard.
With the police on the phone she asked them to send a dispatch vehicle immediately, but knew that they wouldn’t be there in time to remedy the situation. The 18-year-old mother asked the phone operator if she could shoot the intruder. The operator said she could do nothing until he broke in.
Eventually the men broke in. Instantly, Sarah shot and killed the first man through her door, the second man turned himself in to the police. One man had a 12 inch (30.5cm) blade on him; little did he know he’d brought a knife to a gun fight.
Sarah and her baby are alive and well today because America’s Founding Fathers believed in the preservation of certain God given rights that every human should have.
Imagine if Sarah lived in Great Britain and she didn’t have a gun to defend herself, and her baby. What then? Shall we hypothesize?
Let’s say the police arrive in time to save her life. But, in the time between her phoning the police and them getting there, the assailants have raped her, killed her child and pillaged her home. After that, all sense of security and confidence is depleted, and she is psychologically scarred from the incident. To recover her confidence, and self-assuredness, takes her years of counseling.
Thankfully, that didn’t happen to Sarah; however, I am sure some parts of this hypothetical scenario may have occurred to a few British mothers before.
So, what do you think British mums? Would you like to lay waiting for the police in your home defenseless, with your child at risk, while some low-life thug is breaking into your sacred castle? Or would you prefer to be prepared with a gun, so you can immediately eliminate the threat that he poses to you and your child?
Mothers will protect their children by any means necessary, but a properly armed mother wouldn’t have to worry about how she was going to protect her child.
The Second Amendment has afforded many American mothers the clear conscious that their residence is protected if anything disastrous should happen. I believe it is time British mothers are able to experience this same clarity of mind. Criminals should be scared witless of break into a home, for fear of a pistol-packing mama taking aim at their foreheads, if they ever cross her threshold.
Like Robert Heinlein said, “an armed society is a polite society.” And who better to teach politeness than mothers?
