NY Democrat pleads with Republican not to share document proposing confiscation of guns

ClipThe State of New York this week passed some of the strictest gun control laws in the United States, effectively outlawing ‘assault weapons’ and limiting the size of magazines.

But if Republican Assemblyman Steve McLaughlin is to be believed, the New York State Democrats would have gone further if they could have. Much, much further.

In a video posted to his Facebook page, McLaughlin has shared the information of a ‘secret’ Democrat proposal not simply to make the purchasing of the crudely monikered ‘assault weapons’ illegal in New York, but also to engage in a mass confiscation programme, removing Americans’ weapons from their possession.

McLaughlin writes:

“Here it is. This is the video where I was asked to keep the Democrat proposals for the NY SAFE Act away from the public. This list was given to me by a colleague and it is not confidential.

This bill was an attack on the 2nd amendment and the Democrats clearly wanted to…

Many have believed this has been the ultimate goal from the beginning. If you look at the historical perspective of gun control the first step, worldwide, has been to register guns first and then ultimately, over time, seize guns from all the citizens. It is almost impossible to defeat an armed populace, they will fight back, but oh, how easy to overcome an unarmed citizenry. One phrase to the powers that be in this country, “If you want ‘em, come and take them!”

They will send the poorly educated goon and thugs while the politicians will stay safely locked behind bullet proof glass and locked doors in the fortresses paid for and built with our TAX DOLLARS.

The first shots of revolution 2.0 will most likely be fired on new York. Unfortunately

Wrong, wrong this would be revolutio 3.0, the second revolution has already been fought and lost over 150 years ago, in 1861 to be exact.

They didn’t want the Repubs spilling the beans??? Has New York finally gone over to the dark side? The government is by the people for the people, not keeping them in the dark. This is really bad and I hope the people of NY smarten up and do not stand for this attitude.

Judging from the New Yorkers I talk to, they went over to the dark side long ago.

We need to contact all non-liberals in chicago, detroit, miami, atlanta, DC, new york, and los angeles and tell them to move out. Then we need to NUKE these cities; this would solve 90 percent of this countries problems.

  • The Old Man

I believe that the pressure on legislaters will be from both sides that we have never seen before. The people that supported “Gun Appreciation Day” are gonna hammer away at their reps and the voters that are against guns will be doing the same thing.
I predict there will be a clean sweep of a lot of legislators based on their position on the 2nd amendment.

I feel it for NY folks and they may have to be the first to spill blood for there freedoms and rights.Sad to day but democrats have brought it to this level knowing gun free zones kills our children and us and by knowing this they choose to lie and control media with lies will mean nothing less then a blood battle starting with NY. America is waiting for the first sign of disarming from home to home and all hell will break out then.

Here’s to the resurrection and revitalization of the Continental Army,
to once again free our country from tyranny, no militias, each state
should create it’s own division and work in unison to purge this filth
from our nation. No one is too old or young, there are no civilians only
    patriots and traitors.

I think we’re looking at the secession approach all wrong… How about instead of states not agreeing with the government trying to secede, we kick states out that we don’t want anymore? The libs can have states like New York and California. We’ll keep everything in between and keep the southern states for their access to the ocean. I’m sure TX and LA wouldn’t have any issue with that, and we’d get to keep the Mighty Mississippi, oil, tech, pharma, Midwest farming, etc.

New York gun owners will not comply………… Our state constitution saysgun ownership “can not be infringed”
Assault-rifle owners statewide are organizing a
mass boycott of Gov. Cuomo’s new law mandating
they register their weapons, daring officials to
“come and take it away,” The Post has learned.
Gun-range owners and gun-rights advocates are
encouraging hundreds of thousands of owners to
defy the law, saying it’d be the largest act of
    civil disobedience in state history.
“I’ve heard from hundreds of people that they’re
prepared to defy the law, and that number will be
magnified by the thousands, by the tens of
    thousands, when the registration deadline
comes,’’ said Brian Olesen, president of the
American Shooters Supply, one of the largest gun dealers in the state.
Officials estimate at least 1 million
semiautomatic rifles are owned in the state, sources said.
And come April 15, 2014 — when Cuomo is expected
to be running for re-election — they all have to
be registered with the State Police.
But because the rifles have been legal but
unregistered until now, authorities don’t know
who has them or where they are located.
State officials will be nervously watching the
registration figures to see how many gun owners comply, sources said.
“I believe you will have people stepping forward,
saying, ‘Here I am. See? I have what you call an
assault rifle. Now come and take it away,’ ’’
said a gun-rights activist and boycott organizer.
That’s exactly what state officials are worried about.
“Many of these assault-rifle owners aren’t going
to register; we realize that,’’ said a
    Cuomo-administration source who added that
officials expect “widespread violations’’ of the
new law. Owners who refuse to register could face
a class-A misdemeanor — punishable by up to a year in prison.
And an owner’s weapon could also be confiscated,
which could be worth several thousands of dollars.
National Rifle Association President David Keene
told The Post yesterday that he wasn’t surprised by the planned boycott.
“While we don’t get involved in campaigns to
resist the law, I will say this: Historic
experience here and in Canada shows that when you
try to force gun owners into a registration and
licensing system, there’s usually mass opposition
and mass noncompliance,” he said. “I think it’s
going to be very difficult for the governor to
get mass compliance with this new law.”
Leaders of some of the state’s 300 gun clubs, gun
dealers and Second Amendment organizations are
organizing the boycott — and the heaviest
interest is in Suffolk County, the Capital
District and the Buffalo region, sources said.
The organizers point to a little-known guarantee
of gun ownership contained in New York’s own
“Civil Rights Law,” which was ratified the same year as the Constitution .
The state statute says the right to keep and bear
arms “cannot be infringed” — stronger than the
Second Amendment, which says it “shall not be infringed.’’
    “They’re saying, ‘F— the governor! F— Cuomo!
We’re not going to register our guns,’ and I
think they’re serious. People are not going to do
it. People are going to resist,’’ said State
Rifle and Pistol Association President Tom King,
a member of the NRA board of directors. “They’re
taking one of our guaranteed civil rights, and they’re taking it away.’’
Olesen said he’ll soon launch a nonprofit, to be
called Save the Second Amendment Foundation,’ to fight the new law.

If you want to make a law requiring the DEATH penalty for using a firearm, ANY firearm, in the commission of a felony or assault, whether actually fired or not, I would AGREE to THIS ‘gun control; ! I believe most legitimate gun owners would concur! But trying to legislate gun ownership would only work for those timid gun possessors who would relinquish their weapons willingly!

The term, ‘law-breaker’ is rightfully used for those cowardly felons and thugs who fear trying to force others to forfeit property with JUST bare hands, a club, or knife! They CERTAINLY would willingly CONTINUE to be LAW BREAKERS and KEEP their weapons to maintain their advantage over victims, who now have NO recourse to a personal attack or home invasion but the police, THEN only AFTER a call was made! And what if the attackers overwhelmed the tenants before a call COULD be done?

Australian people, recently divested of their home-defense weapons by law, have had a RASH of personal attacks and home invasions in the wake of this atrocious gun-grabber law! I’m sure the AUSSIES would prefer to have KEPT their arms!

In the USA, on the other hand, Kennesaw, Georgia made a law REQUIRING homeowners to have a weapon, and weapon-bearing assaults and home invasions, and OTHER CRIMES, dropped DRASTICALLY! Of course, homes with a religious or other strong reasons to NOT keep arms were excused! Non-possessing homes were NOT made public, though! Exempt also were homes with felons and other lawbreakers. BUT, the people had a CHOICE!

They are targeting “assault weapons” and “assault rifles”. They have their terms wrong; there’s no such thing as either.

An “assault weapon” is ANYTHING that can be used as a weapon to assault someone. This would include guns of all sorts, blunt implements sharp implements, fists, feet, etc. I recently had this discussion at a John Deere dealership I was delivering to, and picked up a large wiring harness complete with heavy-duty plugs, and told the device manager, “This is an assault weapon. I can use it as a weapon to assault you with.”

An “assault rifle” does not exist. (Or to counter, EVERY rifle is an “assault rifle” – a rifle is a weapon to assault someone with!!) The military uses full-auto rifles, which are illegal for us civvies to own (without a long, drawn-out, EXPENSIVE process..) – but even they are NOT “assault rifles”! An AR-15 might LOOK scary (looks kinda like a military rifle), but its action is exactly any other semi-automatic rifle (or pistol!) made.

And there’s this little factoid nugget: according to the FBI, more people were killed last year by HAMMERS than “assault weapons” (to use their term)!! Are we going to ban HAMMERS because a few people used them as “assault weapons”??

How about motor vehicles? Each year, 30,000-40,000 people are killed on the road by cars and trucks (depending on the year you look at). Are CARS next on the list to ban??

By banning certain types of firearms, all we are doing is taking firearms out of the hands of LEGAL, LAW-ABIDING citizens. CRIMINALS – by definition, don’t follow the law – will still get firearms. And we will be defenseless against them. Look at England and Australia – Australia is looking at reinstating private firearm ownership, because firearm crimes have jumped so high.

Hitler once said (in 1933) –
“The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed their subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty. So let’s not have any native militia or native police.” He first disarmed the Jews – worked out well for them, didn’t it???

  • SIRWIZARD

It is a certainty that any bill passed that infringes on our right to bear arms is unconstitutional. If it is unconstitutional, it is unlawful. Therefore, any such bill passed by our legislators would make the lawmakers unlawful actors (criminals). We the People would then be obliged to conduct a CITIZEN’S ARREST of those legislators.
