A weekend home invasion robbery in the Dickinson area went sour for an alleged robber who ended up getting shot with his own gun, according to the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, Richard Charles Holcombe, 32, of Alvin, has been charged with aggravated robbery. He was held Tuesday in the Galveston County Jail under a $250,000 bail, sheriff’s investigators said.
Detectives said Holcombe entered the home Sunday in the 200 block of Shady Bend Court wearing a white mask, and was confronted by the homeowner who heard a signal that the door was opening. The home is in an unincorporated area near Dickinson.
