Why can’t people understand that this is for our own safety? Trump took out parts that people were complaining about. It’s going to be a long four years if the Dems fight him on everything.
President Donald Trump’s revised travel ban is already facing legal trouble as Democratic attorneys general are preparing to file complaints blocking the new executive order.
Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson, who led the fight which halted Trump’s first ban signed in January, is looking to use his order from last month to block the revised policy.
The president signed the new executive order earlier this week which is set to go into effect on March 16. The revised policy removes Iraq and denies US entry to all refugees for 120 days and halts for 90 days the granting of visas to nationals from Syria, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Yemen and Sudan.
It will also no longer affect current visa holders and removes language that would give priority to religious minorities.
In the original lawsuit targeting the first ban, Ferguson said it was unconstitutional and hurt the state’s businesses and universities.
Ferguson said on Thursday that it’s not the government, but the court, that gets to decide whether the revised order is different enough that it would not be covered by previous temporary restraining order.
