Finally, a federal judge see’s the importance of the travel ban! The Virginia judge ruled Friday against blocking President Trump’s executive order.
Judge Anthony Trenga of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia found that Trump had every legal right to impose the travel ban. Better yet, he also said the ban was NOT discriminatory toward Muslims. The injunction had been brought forward by Palestinian activist Linda Sarsour. Can you guess who was representing her? An attorney from the Council on American-Islamic Relations. Big surprise, right?
Trenga had this to say about his ruling, “The President has unqualified authority to bar physical entry to the United States at the border.”
BOOM! Yes he does!
Trenga also pointed out the executive order makes no mention of religion and has a “state secular purpose” of protecting U.S. citizens from terrorist attacks.
You can bet your lucky stars that the Department of Justice was happy about this. They released this statement:
“The Department of Justice is pleased with the ruling. As the Court correctly explains, the President’s Executive Order falls well within his authority to safeguard the nation’s security.”
Thank goodness there are some people out there who still have common sense.
