Investors are constantly searching for the next big industry. In this day-and-age it always has something to do with technology.
Yes he said it. Upgrading humans.
Alphabet’s Google already has a unit devoted to overcoming death, Harari noted. And who can doubt that Apple will want to pick from this new tree of knowledge, as well, or that after conquering self-driving cars Uber, in spite of the antics of its CEO, will want to build an Übermensch?
These new technologies will give humans a longer battery life, killer apps and superpowers that are almost godlike. All of this within the next six decades if Harari is right.
Our best human specimens of today will look like out-dated phones in this kind of future.
With all of these advances though, the work humans do on a daily basis will decrease and what we do with ourselves in the meantime will prove to be less meaningful.
Is Harari completely out of his mind, or is this the weird and obscure future we are going to see?
With all of this said, being a human-bot seems less and less attractive.
