VIDEO–CA Police Chief: Officers Use Guns “To Intimidate & To Show Power.”

Watch the first 30 seconds of this video and listen to the crazy-talk that comes out of this officer’s mouth. I wonder if the majority of police force would agree with him?

This is absolutely outrageous I guess according to this police officer we truly are living in a nazi-germany era police state. The fact is that I know there are probably many officers that support this ridiculous statement, and thus we have a clear understanding of what tyranny exists already in our nation, however I also know that there are probably many more i hope police officers that do not believe in this jack-booted fascist mentality as the proper function of firearms as intended for police protection.

Hog Wash, what a stupid police officer. California go figure, stupid is as stupid does.

      You can’t fix STUPID…

  • Audrey

I know several police officers that would not agree with that statement. That they have it for offensive AND defensive means to protect themselves and their communities. That said, that was the biggest load of hog wash that I have ever heard!

Where do the police act in an offensive mode? They project force or control but they do not do this by sending lead downrange.

Once they are sure a subject is not armed, the police holster their weapons. So, is their bullet resistant vest a defensive vest? Or is it to minimize the risk of retaliation when they use their firearms in an offensive manner?

If they use their firearms as offensive weapons, can we defend ourselves and shoot back? Honest, Judge, he was shooting at me so I shot back.

This guy is a freaking idiot. He needs to turn in his badge and go to a mental institution.

I don’t believe this leftist Chief even realized what he actually said. Critical listeners will catch his faux pas immediately. This is yet another emotional line of babble from the Left Coast and an authority figure. My condolences to my RKBA brothers and sister in CA.
Lord help you defeat the evil mindset of the likes of the Chief, Boxer, Feinstein, Pelosi, et. al.

Just remember, when it comes to taking back our country, bad cops will be remembered. The day of the bad cop is coming to an end.

Looks like Senate President Pro Tem Darrell Steinberg, (to the right of the cop on screen) heard what he was saying and thinks he ought to look at disarming police, too.

I can’t speek for the Department this idiot is from but it seems that when some people get promoted they drink the Kool-Aid and get retarded. Police Officers do not carry a firearm because they are trying to intimidate or are expecting to use it. They carry a firearm because they know that evil can come from anyware so they are prepared. Just like those of us who carry our firearms because we do not want to be unprepared for the evil that may rear its ugly head when we least expect it.

Considering the vast majority of police chiefs in the major cities are political appointments, it is no wonder that this ‘chief’ echoes the irrational talking points of his boss because he knows that if he does not the next politically appointed chief of police will.

Chief James is a stupid S.O.B…

I can see once again who the Second Amendment was intended; for fascist like this creepy police chief. What is refreshing is to finally hear a cop admit his true nature. “to intimidate and to show force” sounds so much different than “to protect and serve” We have you in our sights Chief James.

I’m curious to know which municipality over which this fine example of law-enforcement presides. I would want to know if my own Chief of Police held the same views so I could begin proceedings for his removal.

…what this nut-job really said: “he has the right to protect himself, but, i don’t”? really?

  • TNinstructor

So when my son was accosted coming out of a store on Black Friday 2012 by a would be robber and drew this legally carried firearm my son was on the offensive? Wow. I guess they changed the definitions of “offensive” and “defensive.” (By the way, as soon as the robber got a look at the pistol he said, “sorry, man!” and ran off. ALWAYS carry when legally permitted.)

Just another political hack, where he is because of azzkizzing his way into the position. You can bet he’ll be one that cheerfully attempts to disarm the citizens when king zero dictates it to be so.

  • veteran

Murders are easy to find in this country, they do not follow the same laws that citizens do, and they all where badges…I find that we are defending against the wrong criminal’s!!!

  • verbracity

I was a cop…he is an idiot. If you examine his words he co tradicts himself after the says they are not defensive by saying cops carry them to “keep themselves safe” SAY WHA? Safe from????
OH you mean life if someone came up and made you feel UNSAFE then you’d like…um….DEFEND YOURSELF!?!?! freaking idiot….
