The jihadist had so much time to shoot and kill at his ‘leisure’; it is sickening to watch. Had someone been armed, lives would have been spared.
A survivor of the Pulse nightclub shooting has shared the tragic cell phone footage he took while hiding out in a stall during the three-hour shooting.
Miguel Leiva, a cancer survivor from Miami, was visiting Orlando last weekend when he decided to go out for a night on the town.
When Omar Mateen opened fire inside the Pulse nightclub early Sunday morning, Leiva and about -‘fifteen to 20’ other people locked themselves inside a bathroom and waited to be rescued by police.
All the while, many of the people who were inside the locked stall were nursing gunshot wounds, some dying before help could be reached.
In an interview with WPLG on Wednesday, Leiva shared a short clip he took inside the bathroom stall, to send to his worried girlfriend after she found out about the shooting situation.
‘We just stood quiet, and everyone’s phone kept ringing,’ Leiva said. ‘The only way we knew to let our families know we’re OK was just to record it and let them hear we’re trying to be quiet and send the video.’
