Washington Post Snowflakes Want People to Stop Pointing Out Fake News After It Backfired on Them

washingtonpostfakenewsDidn’t really think this one through did they? At first they were on the font lines, ready to defend against fake news. Then a lot of leftist media found out how fake they were. And so, the fight is no longer worth the risk.

Apparently, after being exposed as butt-munching hypocrites, WaPo has had a change of heart. They’ve since retreated from the fake news narrative they originally encouraged.

The Washington Post, the proprietor of the term “fake news” has published a call to abandon it.

In an article titled “It’s time to retire the tainted term ‘fake news’” the Post’s media columnist Margaret Sullivan suggests that “fake news” has already had its “15 minutes of fame” and it’s time to put the “tainted” term “out of its misery.”

She cites numerous instances when conservative media outlets used the phrase to point out false stories in the mainstream media. “But though the term hasn’t been around long, its meaning already is lost. Faster than you could say “Pizzagate,” the label has been co-opted to mean any number of completely different things: Liberal claptrap. Or opinion from left-of-center. Or simply anything in the realm of news that the observer doesn’t like to hear,” Sullivan complained.

Remember, it’s the left who coined the term “fake news.” And now that it’s no longer convenient for them, they want to destroy it like an unwanted fetus.

Say, this rings familiar… Remember when leftists called for a “peaceful transition of power,” then abandoned all notions of flower-crowned peacefulness after the election? I’m sensing a pattern here. It would appear that the rules don’t apply to themselves. Surprise! Such is common practice in leftist ninnyhood.
