Despite his highly controversial comments about illegal immigrants and Mexico’s part in supposedly sending criminal aliens across the southern border, Donald Trump says he will win the Latino vote should he become the GOP nominee for president in 2016.
Answering questions from the Fox and Friends hosts Wednesday morning, the Republican contender who is now enjoying a popularity surge in a number of recent polls claimed his ability to put people to work will win the backing of Latino voters. Trump’s remarks about the nature of illegal immigration have been interpreted by many critics as a blanket condemnation of all the non-citizens who come to the United States illegally.
