Crocodile ‘Whisperer’ Claimed the Creatures Wouldn’t Harm Him, Then He Went for a Swim

A man who claimed to have supernatural control over crocodiles seems to have over calculated his power. The self proclaimed shaman went for a swim infested with the creatures and ended up being killed by one.

Suprianto was the shaman’s name and was in mid-mantra, swimming and chanting, when he was dragged under.

The attack took place in Kutai Kartanegara, Indonesia, despite calling himself a pawang buaya.

He was swimming into the waters of the Indonesian city looking for the body of a man called Arjuna.

Police recovered both bodies on Sunday, with Kutai Kartanegara Police Chief Fadillah Zulkarnaen telling Detik news site that Suprianto was found floating at 9.40pm.

Daily Mail

‘I think he was dragged by a croc under the water and then ran out of oxygen.

‘From the pictures I’ve seen, his body is still intact, his arms and legs are still there.’

Arjuna’s corpse was also intact.

Let this be a warning to everyone who thinks they can control a wild animal through “supernatural” powers… it doesn’t work.
