Authorities from the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) are responding to emergency calls of a shooting which took place at Fort Meade, Maryland.
This is where the National Security Agency is headquartered and offices out of.
“The President has been briefed on the shooting at Ft. Meade. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone that has been affected. We will continue to provide updates as they become available,” Lindsay Walters said in a statement, who is the White House deputy press secretary.
“The agency said the incident took place at a vehicle gate. Aerial footage shows a black SUV that appears to have crashed into concrete barriers,” reports CNN.
“The situation is under control and there is no ongoing security or safety threat,” the FBI released in a statement.
According to a spokesman for the agency’s Baltimore office, the bureau is responding to the incident; however, no further details were available on the shooting.
