Roger Ailes accomplished a lot in his life span.

In the 1960s Ailes got a name for himself as a television producer, then crossing over to politics he helped Senator Richard Nixon in his 1968 presidential bid.

From there he consulted Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush for their presidential campaigns in 1984 and 1988. To which both were successful.

Quitting the political consulting gig in 1992, Roger moved on to be named president of CNBC in 1993.

During that time he also created the channel ‘America’s Talking’, which we know today as MSNBC.

Then entered News Corp CEO Rupert Murdoch. Ailes joined with Murdoch to create a new cable channel for the Fox Entertainment Group, owned by Murdoch.

This would be his job for 20 years, serving as the CEO of Fox News Channel from the beginning.

The channel started in October of 1996. Ailes resigned in July 2016 after several sexual harassment allegations came against him.

Fox started dominating cable news ratings in the 2000s, beating its liberal competitors CNN and MSNBC.

The channel generated an annual profit of $1.5Billion as of 2016.

Roger Ailes was born May 15, 1940.

CNN is reporting — According to a family friend, Ailes fell at his home in Palm Beach, Florida last week; suffered complications; and slipped into a coma.
