Kathy Griffin did something everyone agrees was way out of line. Now she’s paying the price for her actions.
CNN has fired the “comedian” from her annual co-hosting gig during its New Year’s Eve program.
“CNN has terminated our agreement with Kathy Griffin to appear on our New Year’s Eve program,” the network’s PR department tweeted.
CNN wasn’t the only company to abandon Kathy.
The Route 66 Casino near Albuquerque, New Mexico took to Facebook to announce that they canceled Griffin’s planned performance.
People were very receptive to the cancellation.
She also lost her bizarre endorsement deal with Squatty Potty, a company that makes ergonomic footstools designed to ease bowel movements.
CEO Bobby Edwards issued a statement:
“We were shocked and disappointed to learn about the image Ms. Griffin shared today, it was deeply inappropriate and runs contrary to the core values our company stands for. In response, Squatty Potty has suspended its ad campaign featuring Ms. Griffin.
“We have acted swiftly and decisively to demonstrate our commitment to a culture of decency, civility, and tolerance.”
Other’s who don’t seem to be a fan: the U.S. Secret Service.
Not the people you want breathing down your neck.
But maybe not everyone has a problem with Griffin. Liberal politician, Minnesota Sen. Al Franken, told CNN “Yes” when they asked if he still plans to appear with Griffin during an event that will be held in Minnesota later in July.
Speaking about Griffin’s apology, Franken said, “I think she did the right thing. I think asking for forgiveness and acknowledging that this, this was a horrible mistake.”
So are you going to be like pretty much the whole country and hold Kathy responsible? Or are you going to be like the dim-wit Franken and “forgive and forget”?
We sure as h*ll aren’t going to forget this one!
