Mailman held up at gunpoint in Pearland neighborhood

newmanA letter carrier was robbed at gunpoint during broad daylight in an upscale Pearland neighborhood on Monday.

He was delivering the mail on Shady Brook Drive in the Shadow Creek Subdivision around noon, when he was held up.

The robber was wearing a bandana when he snuck up and pulled a semiautomatic pistol on the postman.

The mail carrier said, “At first I thought it was a joke. He was real calm like he’d done it before…like it was nothing.”

The mailman was forced into his truck and lost about $50 in cash.
