PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A man is in custody after allegedly attempting to open the emergency exit row door of an Alaska Airlines plane as it was landing at Portland International Airport Monday morning, on route from Anchorage.
Twenty-three-year-old Alexander Michael Herrera faces one federal count of interfering with a flight crew.
Bobbie Eagan, an Alaska Air spokesperson, reports that Flight 132 was on its descent into Portland when a man in row 17 attempted to open the emergency door.
The crew asked nearby passengers to help restrain him, which they did successfully.
