Heroes don’t always wear caps. And some aren’t even people!
This K9 officer from South Florida is proof of that!
The police dog Kasper took a bullet intended for his handler during a shootout. He went through surgery and is expected to recover.
It all started when officers were chasing Philip Oshea, 46, at 4 am after he robbed a bar and carjacked a woman.
Police arrived at the bar just as Oshea was driving away. A chase ensued and lead to two gunfights.
The first shootout happened during the chase. The second after Oshea crashed the car into a fence.
None of the police officers were shot, thanks to Kasper.
One officer was injured while diving for cover.
The suspect was killed in the shootout.
Oshea had an extensive criminal history. He had been to prison several times and was wanted for arrest in North Carolina for armed robbery.
Police are happy that the “dangerous individual” is off the streets.
