On Monday the makers of Barbie revealed they are coming out with a brand new doll. But unlike the typical blonde haired Barbie dolls the brand is most famous for, this one is Muslim and fully equipped with a hijab. It’s modeled after Olympic fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad, whom is known in the media for her hatred of President Trump.
Glamour’s Women of the Year summit was the event which the product was unveiled. It is scheduled to hit the market in 2018 according to CNN Money.
Muhammad tweeted: “I’m proud to know that little girls everywhere can now play with a Barbie who chooses to wear hijab! This is a childhood dream come true.”
Thank you @Mattel for announcing me as the newest member of the @Barbie #Shero family! I’m proud to know that little girls everywhere can now play with a Barbie who chooses to wear hijab! This is a childhood dream come true ???????? #shero pic.twitter.com/py7nbtb2KD

The Barbie brand’s vice president of global marketing, Sejal Shah Miller, explained that Muhammad was an inspiration to ‘women and girls everywhere to break boundaries.’
We are so excited to honor @IbtihajMuhammad with a one-of-a-kind #Barbie doll! Ibtihaj continues to inspire women and girls everywhere to break boundaries. #Shero #YouCanBeAnything #GlamourWOTY pic.twitter.com/oV0e6ClgL6

“Ibtihaj is an inspiration to countless girls who never saw themselves represented, and by honoring her story, we hope this doll reminds them that they can be and do anything,” Miller expanded in a released statement.
Coincidently, or not at all, Muhammad is a huge critic of President Donald Trump who has publicly made known her disdain for our president. Once in a written letter to Trump, attacking him, and also in multiple tweets.
Friends don't let friends like Trump
