Pedophile Imprisoned for Sexually Abusing Young Boy is Found Dead in Jail

Daniel Davey, 22, was jailed on the charge of sexually abusing a young boy six times over an 18-month time span from the years 2015-16.

Davey committed the crime while babysitting the boy. The victim finally broke his silence about the abuse, telling his mom he wanted to tell her “something dirty.”

According to the Bath Chronicle, he was jailed on December 1 to serve a six-and-a-half year sentence for the abuse; however, he was found dead in jail on January 12.

Via Unilad: A spokesman for the Ministry of Justice said the death while in custody would be investigated by the Prison Service Ombudsman, and a reason will be found via inquest.

The inquest has been opened in Oxford but has been adjourned to an unspecified date.

The jury at Swindon Crown Court found that Davey abused his victim while he was living and working in Chippenham. After the boy told his mum, police investigated and found Davey’s DNA on the boy’s underwear.

It was also revealed during the court hearing that a witness had seen an image on Davey’s computer which showed a man sexually abusing a child aged around 13-years-old.

Reportedly Davey told the witness the image was sent to someone as a joke when confronted on it. Upon his arrest the pedophile destroyed his computer.

The suspect pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against him, but a jury decided he was.

Davey was on the sexual offenders register, and was told to serve a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and was placed under a restraining order to protect his victim.
