President Trump Believes Teachers Should be Armed to “Immediately” Shoot Sickos — Do You Agree?

Yesterday President Trump hosted a few of the Parkland high school students who survived the mass shooting attack by Nikolas Cruz.

During the meeting CNN quoted Trump saying, “Gun-free zone to a maniac—because they’re all cowards—a gun-free zone is ‘let’s go in and let’s attack because bullets aren’t coming back at us.’”

“He said adopting a policy where “20 percent” of teachers were armed would reduce or eliminate the perception of weakness, making schools a riskier target to strike,” Breitbart continued.

Trump said, “If you had a teacher who was adept with the firearm, they could end the attack very quickly.”

Somehow this quote was lost in translation by CNN and NBC, where they claimed the president wanted to give all teachers a gun.

Today President Trump had to make a correction.

Trump observed that most first responders are “5-8 minutes” away at the moment a school shooting occurs [it took Cruz 3 minutes to kill 17 people]; but teachers are on the scene to shoot these savage sickos “immediately.”

Reiterating that he believed approximately “20 percent” of schools should arm their teachers, and not what the “Fake News” claims about arming all teachers:

Breitbart points out, “Trump’s points are simple: 1. He is not talking about haphazardly providing guns to teachers. Rather, he is talking about shifting from a gun-free paradigm by training certain teachers to carry for the defense of themselves and their students. 2. It is demonstrable that first responders are minutes away when an attack occurs, but teachers are on the scene the second the attack begins. Allowing teachers to take action–and giving them the training needed to do so effectively–will save lives. 3. Gun-free zones are killing fields and serve ‘a magnet for bad people.’ Eliminating such zones will eliminate, or at least diminish, the attractiveness of schools as targets.”

The president’s comments come a few days after 250 teachers in Ohio signed up for a conceal carry course.

Sheriff Richard K. Jones of Butler County Ohio wanted to do something pro-active after the Valentine’s Day shooting at the Parkland, FL., high school, so he offered free concealed carry training for 50 teachers.

Within 24 hours, the sheriff’s office received 250 applications from teachers to take his course.

According to Breitbart News, Jones first promoted the class on Sunday. Just 20 minutes after posting the class for registration, 50 emails were already in his inbox.

Following up on the class, Fox 91 stated that just two days later the registration went up to 250 teachers looking to train in Jones’ concealed carry course. Commenting on the massive response, the sheriff said, “We have 250 and growing fast. We will start training fast, next week.”

He continued, “If the school boards want to give the authority to teachers to be armed…[they] can do that, they have the authority to do it, but I’m going to do my part, and I assume I’m probably the only one in the state of Ohio that’s doing that – but something has to happen.”
